Kids can explore their wild side at Sibshops event

Kids can can explore their wild side and the Minnesota Zoo on a Sibshops outing August 15. Sibshops is a fun, supportive program geared for kids who have a brother or sister with a chronic illness, life-long health concern or disability. The program brings these unique siblings together to express the good and the bad about having a child in the family with special health concerns and provides a day that focuses just on them. 

The Child Life program at Mayo Clinic offers two Sibshops versions — a school-age program for siblings six-13 years old, and a teen edition for siblings 14-18 years old. Events are held several times a year. Here's the info about the Minnesota Zoo event:

Who: Kids ages six to 13
Date: Thursday, August 15, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. 
Drop-off & pick-up location: Autumn Ridge Church, 3611 Salem Rd SW, Rochester, 55902
Cost: $10
Registration: Fill out the form and return by August 2 to reserve your spot. 
Other info: Transportation to and from the even will be provided, along with lunch. The Zoo outing will take place rain or shine.
