Stepping On Program: Building confidence, reducing falls

If you or a loved one is at risk for falls, the Stepping On program builds confidence and empowers older adults to adopt healthy behaviors that help reduce the chance of falling. in a small group setting, participants learn about improving strength and balance, home hazards and modifications, safe footwear, vision and falls, community safety, and medicine review. 

Consider the Stepping On program if you: 

  • Are 60 years or older
  • Have had a fall in the past or are fearful of falling
  • Are living independently in a home or apartment
  • Walk independently or with a cane
  • Are not suffering from dementia

The next seven-week session begins June 23 and runs through August 4. Workshops are held on Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at The Waters on Mayowood, 827 Mayowood Rd. S.W. in Rochester. 

Cost for the program is $20 per participant. To register, call 507-538-3740. Registration ends June 13. 

This program is open to the community, participants do not have to live at The Waters to attend.
